The Fund has been established within the Community Foundation for Surrey, an independent charitable trust, which inspires local giving to create new community resources that will permanently improve the lives of people in Surrey.
The Community Foundation for Surrey was established in 2005 and works with community and voluntary groups that support the most vulnerable, isolated and disadvantaged people in Surrey. Their aim is to inspire local people who want to support their local communities to build permanent funds that will make a real impact on people’s lives.
The Foundation awards grants to local charities, community and voluntary groups at a grassroots level that help those living in areas of acute need and surprising levels of deprivation. The range of grants awarded supports projects across the width of community need including facilities for young people, sports equipment, reducing isolation for older citizens, improving community facilities and projects for the disabled.
The Community Foundation for Surrey is an independent charitable trust. They are part of a national network of UK Community Foundations, a growing philanthropic movement in the United Kingdom.
