Surrey Hills Businesses showcased in German Twin Town Exchange

Four outstanding local businesses and Members of Surrey Hills Enterprises were showcased as part of an official German Twin town visit to Birtley House in Bramley.

The Mayor of Waverley, Cllr Denise Le Gal joined Dr Alexander Saftig Mayor for Mayen-Koblenz, a district in Germany that has been twinned with Waverley Borough Council since 1977. They were joined by Surrey Hills Enterprises Chairman, Simon Whalley and Ambassador Mark Lebus.

The party was hosted by Birtley House, an exemplar in nursing home care, where they met Staff and residents and a selection of inspiring local charities, businesses and artisans.

The art of creating special and unique floral displays was demonstrated by The Edge of The Florist’s Damon Kimpton. Ruth Wheeler demonstrated wood carving skills and pyrography and Rosanna Gethin, a leather craft expert showcased her special handcrafted leather products.
