Supporting Sustainability in the Surrey Hills

2019 saw a dramatic increase in awareness of environmental and sustainability issues affecting both individuals and organisations, with 75% of UK businesses feeling that they have a role to play in delivering the United Nations Sustainable Development goals (UNSDG’s)*

Whilst the desire to become more sustainable is increasing, it can be a daunting task for many organisations, especially small businesses.  However, the overwhelming evidence suggest that organisations incorporating eco-friendly practices are also increasing their bottom line as more consumers are choosing eco values over cost.

Surrey Hills Sustainable Business Showcase

The Surrey Hills Sustainable Business Showcase will bring together a wide range of leading figures and organisations to help inform and inspire others to take practical, effective and realistic actions which will help them put sustainability at the forefront of their business strategy.

For any organization that wishes to minimize the impact they are having on the environment, this event will enable them to learn from fellow Surrey organizations who are already overcoming the hurdles and challenges to enable them to become more sustainable.

Practical tools and techniques

Attendees will walk away with tools and techniques to better enable their organization to meet the increasingly vital actions needed to protect the environment of the Surrey Hills and beyond and will learn how rising to the challenge will not only help the environment but can also help in the marketing and success of their organization

The event has been organised by Surrey Hills Enterprises – a community interest company whose core activities are focused on building a strong local economy and tourism industry through ‘clean growth’, support of rural businesses and environmental sustainability. They have awarded the Trade Mark Surrey Hills to over 100 organisations as an Accreditation and Mark of local provenance, quality and sustainability.
