Silent Pool Distillers success in ‘Taste of the South East’ competition

ianSurrey Hills Enterprises member Silent Pool Distillers have won a place to go to Expo Milano 2015 where they will have the opportunity to meet buyers, potential partners and business prospects from around the world. This exciting opportunity has come about through a competition organised by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) South East. Silent Pool Distillers are based on the Duke of Northumberland’s Albury Estate in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  The distillery takes its name from the mythical, spring-fed pool from which it draws its water. Their mission is to create high quality, small batch, artisan spirits of the very highest quality, using only the finest local ingredients. Ian McCulloch comments; “We are delighted to have won a place to Expo Milano 2015, it will be a fantastic opportunity to build some international links to further promote our products and showcase what we are doing here in the Surrey Hills”. Expo Milano is a platform for the exchange of ideas and shared solutions on the theme of food and drink, stimulating each country’s creativity and promoting innovation for a sustainable future. Lewis Scott, UKTI South East Regional Director comments; “Expo Milano will be a hub of international businesses, with over 140 participating countries and an expected 20 million visitors. The South East food and drink sector is highly diverse. From micro-breweries and world-class sparkling wine to dairy-free chocolate and organic baby food, our region contains many innovative companies.
