Depicted Designs is a young, local fashion and lifestyle brand.
It offers an eclectic array of homeware, stationery and gifts created from original designs. Our aim is to create products that outwardly express the awesome inside.
We specialise in bespoke, hand painted denim jackets in our fashion range, Depicted Denim.
Depicted Denim was created by Madelaine Salvage while at university in Brighton, UK. Brighton is a vibrant city full of art and music. A city that thrives on individuality. However, while there she noticed that she was walking through a sea of denim jackets through the town. They all looked the same. No one stood out from the others. And so, Depicted Denim was born. Madelaine applied her painting to a new canvas, Denim.
Depicted Denim strives to create bespoke designs with sustainability in mind. Each jacket is completely unique and embellished with fun and lively designs. Fashion is fast becoming a burden on the eco system but through reworking vintage and second hand items Depicted Denim strives to not only enhance your wardrobe but the care for our planet too.
The range of designs is constantly growing so be sure to check out each of our jackets and lifestyle products in the shop. All existing designs can be produced on jackets of varying colours and sizes that we may have available. Get in contact with us and we’d be happy to help. We are also available for commissioned pieces whether it be for birthdays, weddings or just a special treat for yourself. Please do get in touch with any requests.
Sustainability in the Surrey Hills
Our passion is to give garments a second (or sometimes third) life!
We take sustainability very seriously and it is the backbone of our business. Most of our products are upcycled clothing and/or use textiles/other components that have had a previous life!
Where we do need to use any products that are ‘new’ e.g. paints, haberdashery etc. we make sure that we buy from regulated sources and products with the highest ethical & sustainable standards.
We also buy a lot of ‘dead stock’ fabric/other products that would otherwise, unfortunately, end up in landfill.
Wherever possible we limit the transport of our materials and products, we always do bulk deliveries if possible, of our raw materials (rather than multiple/separate materials deliveries). We have heavily reduced our need to visit customers, using online video calls instead of face-to-face meeting to reduce our carbon footprint.
