Take part in the Surrey Hills Challenge on Sunday 24th September.
The series of running and walking challenges returns to the beautiful landscape of the Surrey Hills, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) raising awareness and funds for the Community Foundation for Surrey and the Surrey Hills Trust Fund.
People of all ages and fitness can participate in four different running and walking challenges. The Greensand Way will form the backdrop to the event where the super fit can face the ultimate challenge with ‘The Ultra’, a 60km run, ‘The Half’, no ordinary walk (or run) in the park of 21km, ‘The Ten’, a fast and furious 10km or ‘The Five’, a family challenge 5km event.
All four routes encompass some of the most picturesque views across the Surrey Hills along the Greensand Way and are designed to test participants’ stamina and strength.
Registration is open for participants to enter individually, as a group or as a family.
Prices are as follows:
- The Ultra, 60km – £80
- The Half, 21km – £35
- The Family Ten, 10km – £55

As well as support from a dedicated Events Team before and during the event, participants will also receive a medal, chip timing, aid stations, professional first aid cover, car parking, WC facilities and sports massage.
The event is to raise funds for the Community Foundation for Surrey and the Surrey Hills Trust Fund. Fundraising isn’t compulsory but we are encouraging everyone to take up the additional challenge to fundraise and support local communities. A suggested fundraising target to aim for is £250 per person.
Established as a fund within the Community Foundation for Surrey, a registered charity, the Surrey Hills Trust Fund helps to conserve and maintain the fragile environment of the Surrey Hills by awarding grants to support a wide-range of local projects from landscape conservation to community enterprise schemes.
The Community Foundation established the Surrey Hills Trust Fund to exclusively help local projects and community groups within the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Those raising funds by participating in the Surrey Hills Challenge will enable the Trust Fund to help local projects conserving the AONB and support the people who live, work in and enjoy the area.
