Join us for a fascinating tour of Surrey Police Headquarters at Mount Browne, on the edge of Guildford. Originally the attractive 19th century home of George John Browne, 3rd Marquis of Sligo. The house was originally called “Oakdene”. It was bought by the Surrey Constabulary in 1947 and was officially opened in 1949 as official headquarters by the Home Secretary, Rt Hon J Chuterede MP.
The building also houses the Surrey Police Museum and staff there will give us an insight into Surrey’s Policing history. Join us for their special opportunity to gain an insight into Police history and explore these historic grounds, which are also used as the training centre for Surrey Police dogs. Unfortunately no cameras will be allowed on the tour.
Following the tour, there is an option for lunch in local pub.
