10:30 am - 3:00 pm
Join the Surrey Hills Society 20s to 30s group on this very popular tour which encapsulates the stunning views of the Tillingbourne Valley and explores the amazing buildings hidden within its beauty.
This is a circular walk from the Percy Arms in Chilworth which takes us round the Chantries, the beautiful St. Martha’s Church on the hill and the Tillingbourne River before we end up exploring the eerie Admiralty Gunpowder Mills and finish with a well-deserved pint and possibly something to eat back at the Percy.
We will meet at 10.30am the Percy Arms (75 Dorking Road, Chilworth, GU4 8NP Guildford). From Guildford head towards Shalford and then Dorking. Percy Arms will be along the Dorking Road.
Chilworth Station is directly opposite The Percy Arms.
The walk itself is quite hilly in places so a good level of fitness is advisable as well as good footwear.
Being the summer, we hope that it will be warm and sunny to take in these fantastic views but remember this is England so please dress for the weather on the day.
Bring with you some water/fluids and some nibbles as we will have a spot to eat on St. Martha’s Hill.
This particular event is extremely popular so booking is a must.
