SURREY HILLS ARTISAN FESTIVAL 2022

A weekend festival celebrating the very best of Surrey’s food, drink, art and crafts at the stunning Denbies Wine Estate in Dorking.

 

DATES: Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd May, 2022

TIME:  10am – 5pm

VENUE:  Denbies Vineyard, Dorking, Surrey, RH5 6AA

TICKETS:  £7.50 in advance (advance tickets closes at 12 noon on Friday 20th May) or £10.00 on the gate. Free for children under 16!

The Surrey Hills Artisan Festival is a wonderful out door event that promises to be a real delight for all the senses. The Festival has been created to showcase over 80 exceptional Artisans from across Surrey, who will share their knowledge, skills and crafts.

Come along to this great family day out and find out more about some of the many local artists, craftsman and food and drink producers in Surrey.

Join us for the whole day as there is something for everyone!

Plus you can watch different landscape artists capture the beauty of Denbies vineyard in front of your very eyes.

    

Great Food & Drink

Between the activities and demos, enjoy our wide variety of food and drink from the Surrey Hills, so treat yourself to a wood-fired pizza, a Thai curry, a delicious homemade pastry, a glass of wine from the Surrey Hills or a Silent Pool gin and tonic!

Demos, talks and tastings

We will have a marquee dedicated to talks and demos from Artisans with a programme of interesting and unusual presentations including:-

  • Rum From The Hills! – Presentation and Tasting by Ripping Yarns Distillery
  • Eat the seasons – Asparagus dishes and wild garlic pesto
  • Alcohol-free cocktail tips by Binary Botanical
  • Bread to beer – a zero food waste success story by Crumbs brewery
  • How to make a Denbies wine sorbet and seasonal fruit ice cream by Denbies and Moooh Ice Cream
  • Mindful re-fresh with Harmony in Nature
  • The Silent Pool story and gin infused fudge tasting
  • Leathercraft techniques by Rosanna Clare
  • Hedge laying: Support wildlife and create beautiful boundaries with an ancient practice – Hedges and hurdles
  • Making a “curry in a hurry” with Mandira’s Kitchen

Music and entertainment

The central arena will feature a wide range of musicians and entertainers including:-

  • Rock Choir performances
  • Singing workshop (Saturday only)
  • Bloco Del Sul – Samba Rhythms
  • Rampant Roosters Morris Dancer
  • Melodic Pan Man – steel drums transporting you to the Caribbean
  • Philip Hopkins Jazz Duo
  • Mole Valley Silver Band

     

Interactive Kids Zone

Bring the kids for free (up to the age of 16)

  • Surrey Hills Super Heros storytelling – plus create your own Surrey Hills Super Hero!
  • Play Giant board games like Jenga, noughts and crosses and draughts
  • Let your creativity flow at the Arts and crafts tables
  • learn to draw cartoons and add to a giant cartoon mural (Sunday)
  • Help make a giant art installation (Saturday)
  • Build the tallest tower competition with spinning poodles games
  • Make your own clay pot with Marina Randal ceramics

Surrey Artists Open Studios

Surrey Artists’ Open Studios are celebrating their 20th year offering artists and other local businesses opportunities to promote themselves and their work to members of the public.

Open Studios takes place each Summer as an opportunity for the public to visit studios, meet artists and makers, view demonstrations, buy artwork, enter our free prize draw, view taster exhibitions and take part in creative workshops. Studio locations are throughout Surrey and around its borders.

Denbies Wine Estate

The Denbies Estate, based in Dorking, Surrey, has been family owned and run since 1984. Denbies vineyard was planted in 1986, and since then has become one of the largest wine producers in the UK. Denbies’ core business is agriculture and they are pleased to be able to offer visitors an insight into wine production in the UK. Denbies wine now competes on an international level, including multiple gold awards for sparkling wine production, the first ever gold for an English rose wine and an international gold for Denbies Noble Harvest Dessert wine.

Adult Advance Online ticket (up to 12 noon on Friday 20th May ): £7.50

or £10.00 on the gate or online after 12 noon on Friday 20th May.

PAYMENT: We use Paypal as our payment system, however, if you DO NOT have a paypal account you can still pay by debit / credit card when you click through to paypal.

When you submit your booking, the Paypal page comes up. Then under the blue box which says ‘Next’ there is an option to pay by credit or Debit card. If you click on this it will take you through the payment process.

TICKETS:  An automatic email confirmation of your booking will be forwarded within a few minutes of making your booking. Please print and bring a copy with you.

If you love this festival then come along to our smaller atmospheric Artisan Markets in Cranleigh high street that showcases the best of Surrey Hills Artisans including local food, drink, arts, and crafts. 

The perfect opportunity to browse amazing hand-made crafts, sample and takeaway locally sourced food and a wide range of drinks including wine, gin and non alcoholic beverages.

Or come along to the Surrey Hils Artisans at Ripley Farmers Market

On Saturday, June 11th Saturday (9-1pm) in Ripley, Surrey.
