6:45 pm - 8:15 pm
Box Hill Dorking Surrey RH4 1QA
Join artist Mary Branson on a dusk walk to view her Harvest installation at Box Hill and hear about the development of this large-scale artwork. Harvest is an art installation on farmland beneath Box Hill that explores the relationship of the local farming community to the land, the processes and rituals of harvest time and the impact of the changing climate on their unseen work.
Following a brief explanation of the artwork at the Box Hill viewpoint, Mary Branson will lead a 20 minute walk down the hill and into the field to see the illuminated field of bales. Here there is an opportunity to photograph and discuss the work before the ascent back to the start. It is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Suitable for those with a good level of fitness as it is an uneven, steep walk in low light.
Please wear walking shoes/boots and bring torches and sensible clothing for weather conditions.
This is a free public event, open to everyone. But places are limited so booking is highly recommended.
Walks take place on 15, & 16 September at 7pm and 22 & 23 September 6.45pm.
