The Salt Box Nutfield rh14ej
We’re combining art and food for a family morning beneath the trees in our woodland glen on the beautiful Priory Farm Estate, followed by a feast cooked over fire inspired by seasonal, local ingredients.
Wrap up warm and join us for a lovely family friendly workshop suitable for children and adults alike, sat around a crackling fire.
What better way to connect to and learn from the woodland around us, than by learning to paint using materials grown in the woodland itself. Surrey Art School founder Ellie Green is back in the woods this half term sharing a workshop that is both calming and creative for parents and kids alike.
We’ll kick off by learning a simple technique to transform the humble feather into a quill. Once we have our mark-making materials made, we’ll use Oak Gall ink to create painted studies wholly in tune with the woodland itself and paint the simply beautiful forms of the bare winter trees. Ellie will be sharing tips on how to let the brush do the work for you in this fun mindful workshop wholly inspired by nature…
Following the art workshop, we’ll sit down at our shared dining table beneath the trees for a delicious 2-course feast. Before we head home, we’ll learn how to light a fire in the great outdoors using natural methods.
