Leatherhead Railway Station Leatherhead KT22 7SQ

Join Surrey Hills Society walk leader Pete Lambert and Diane Cooper, from the Surrey County Council’s Countryside team to enjoy this 6 mile (10km), 3 hour walk, and discover some stunning Surrey Hills landscape, including England’s largest vineyard.

You will discover a river that has carved a route through the chalk of the North Downs, some of the best ancient yew and box woodlands in Europe and historic parkland that has inspired famous writers and artists through the centuries.

There will be an option to stop at Denbies Vineyard for refreshment just before the completion of our walk at Dorking main station.

Trains leave Dorking main station for Leatherhead on a Sunday at 7 minutes past the hour and the journey takes 7 minutes.  An alternative option would be for walkers to leave their cars at Dorking station before the walk starts.   Both Leatherhead and Dorking main rail station car parks cost £2 all day on Sundays, Randalls Road car park (Leatherhead) is free on Sundays.

We will meet at Leatherhead Railway Station. Grid ref: TQ163568. Postcode for Sat Nav: KT22 7SQ at 10.30am for an 11.00am prompt start and the walk will finish at 2pm. This timing does not include a Denbies refreshment break option.

The event is free and open to all reasonably fit walkers.  Please note there are a couple of fairly short hills.  Dogs are welcome on the walk.

Booking is essential even though the walk is free. To book your place and/or to get more information, contact info@surreyhillssociety.org.
