DIfficulty Level: 4
Cycle Surrey Hills is a network of over 80km of off-road cycling trails in South West Surrey where you can get active, improve fitness and experience the spectacular scenery of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Cycle Surrey Hills is broken down into five interlinking routes giving cyclists the opportunity to choose either a long distance ride or shorter loops. The Elstead Loop takes you across Hankley & Elstead Commons offering some of the finest remaining heathland in Southern England. Discover a vast expanse of common land, wonderful views and delightful rural villages.
Please Note: This loop is mainly on bridleways that are not suitable for road bikes. Certain sections of the bridleway will be muddy in the winter and soft sand in the summer so may require you to dismount and push through. All the trails are shared with other countryside users so please remember to ‘share with care’ and give way to horses & walkers.
There are 4 other Cycle Surrey Hills Loops at the Devil’s Punchbowl, Frensham, Thursley and Puttenham all offering a challenging ride of varying lengths with breathtaking Surrey Hills views and points of interest along the way.

Lovely varied route through the surrey countryside. Bit muddy in places but offered a bit of technical along the way.
By downloading and following GPX made following the route a lot easier without having to rely on signs.
Due to the open nature of the area and the criss-crossing of paths there are places on this ride where no signs exist meaning users may need to guess which route to take. Despite this it was fantastic scenery and an enjoyable ride.
Enjoyable ride, lovely views but could do with more signage.
