Working Groups have been established to lead on key areas of activity that have been identified in the Management Plan and as a priority by the Surrey Hills Board. The Working Groups are supported by the Surrey Hills AONB Unit and chaired by Members of the Board.
The following Working Groups have so far been established;
Mountain Biking
The Mountain Biking Working Group has been established to progress the pro-active management of mountain biking in the Surrey Hills. It brings together a group of landowners, access managers, users and businesses.
Off Road
The Off Road Working Group has been established to look at ways of regulating and managing issues to do with Off Roading in the Surrey Hills.
Decluttering the Surrey Hills
The Decluttering the Surrey Hills Highway Working Group has been established to examine the threat of signage clutter on country lanes in the Surrey Hills.
Wood Fuel
The Wood Fuel Working Group has been established to actively promote the benefits of wood fuel in the Surrey Hills.
Living Landscapes
The Living Landscapes Working Group has been established to assist landowners and land managers to bring about large scale enhancement to extensive tracts of countryside.
Surrey Hills Enterprises
The Surrey Hills Enterprises working group has been established to further commercialise the Surrey Hills brand. A signicicant number of sectors and users have the potential to utilise the brand including; standard food and produce related users, visitor and hospitality sectors and businesses based in and around the Surrey Hills. The ultimate outcome of the project is to generate enough income to sustainably fund the project in perpetuity.
