A host of Surrey businesses were treated to a preview of the new Surrey Hills website this week when they attended an evening networking event at Albury Organic vineyard. The event was organised by Surrey Hills Enterprises, a community interest company which brings together independent companies and artisans based within the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with the aim of promoting the local economy and supporting enterprise.
The evening saw a series of informative presentations by Surrey Hills Enterprises members including; Albury Organic Vineyard, Silent Pool Gin and Birtley Brook Estates. Guests were also treated to a wine and gin tasting session and a light buffet of local surrey produce was supplied by the Butchers Hall & Country Grocer based in Forest Green.
Carol Hornsby-Smith, Marketing Manager for Surrey Hills Enterprises comments;
“It was fantastic to welcome our Surrey Hills Enterprises members to this networking event. Not only did it provide an opportunity for members to engage with each other and share information, it also allowed us to showcase the benefits of the new website, built by Akiko Design. Within the online directory, our members get their own microsite which provides a platform to further promote their businesses as part of a combined effort”.
The new website communicates the work of the Surrey Hills family as well as providing lots of information on what to see and do in the area. The walking and cycling section has downloadable maps which make getting out into the Surrey Hills even easier.
Caroline Price, Marketing Communications Officer for the Surrey Hills Board comments;
“I’m delighted with the new Surrey Hills website. It is a vital communication tool for the Surrey Hills and helps to make people aware of just how special this protected landscape is. It also shows the vast amount of work that the Surrey Hills family are involved with”.
