Organised by Surrey Hills Enterprises in association with Grown in Britain and the CLA, the one-day conference will provide a comprehensive overview of the industry, ideal for those looking to generate income from wood, understand more about growth opportunities through renewable energy or sustain a business in the wood fuel supply chain.
Now in its sixth year, the National Wood Fuel Conference is sponsored by LC Energy, Surrey County Council and the Forestry Commission, and will take place at Epsom Downs Racecourse.
The conference will be chaired by Dougal Driver, Chairman of Grown in Britain, and coincides with Grown in Britain Week, a national celebration of woods and the values and products that they contribute. Speakers will be looking at funding, including RHI, sustainability, opportunities for landowners and the potential for growth in the education and care sectors.
The conference programme, which runs from 8.00am – 4.30pm, features round table sessions as well as speaker presentations. Delegates will also be able to benefit from an on-site exhibition featuring a range of suppliers to the wood fuel industry. The cost is £115 for the day, including lunch, with an early-bird price of £95 available for bookings placed before the 23 September.
Mark Lebus of event sponsors, LC Energy comments: “Having had a sell-out last year at Denbies, this year’s conference should be even bigger and better at Epsom Racecourse. The focus on growth and value in wood is particularly relevant for wood fuel suppliers and users and will give a valuable insight into the latest industry opportunities as well as a chance to network with leading businesses and organisations in the wood fuel sector.”
