12:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Guildford Town Centre to Shere and back starting at 12 noon – 6.00pm Using the new Compass Bus Route 32
Join the Chairman of the Surrey Hills Society for day out enjoying the unique beers, wines and other brews of the Tillingbourne Valley, near Guildford. Starting out from a pub in Guildford, we will board the newly launched Compass Bus service which travels from Guildford to Redhill along the A25, through some of Surrey’s loveliest countryside.
First stop will be Shere, where we will take the short walk to Silent Pool distillery for a tour of the new distillery there before walking to another local pub for further sampling and then a carefree return to Guildford late afternoon on the Route 32 bus.
You will learn more about the unique geology which helps create some of our local brews and makes then distinctly Surrey. The costs of the tour is only £5.00 but depending on your situation (and age) you may be able to get a free or discounted pass on the bus ticket. A Discovery Pass will cost you £8.50 for the day- full price. All tipples and any food ordered will be at your own cost, on the day.
Please come with enough funds to cover the bus fare and your food and drink for the day. You may also wish to purchase some of the array of bottles on sale at the distillery. Please also bring a rain coat and suitable walking shoes for the fairly gentle walk from Shere to Silent Pool distillery, which will take about 30 mins and then back again at the end of the tour.
This event is not suitable for children or dogs or people with mobility challenges. However, if you would like to just join us for the tour of the distillery (which is wheelchair accessible), then please contact Chris Howard on 01483 894437 to organise your requirements for this part of the event.
Booking is essential. If you would like to join us would you please complete and return the attached booking form to arrive at Warren Farm Barns before Friday 9th October.
