Leith Hill Place was the childhood home of composer, Ralph Vaughan Williams and the magical setting where he was first inspired to explore music. Nestling gracefully in the Surrey Hills, where better to spend a summer’s afternoon or evening with family and friends.
For an evening performance of English folk songs, Morrigan return to Leith Hill Place on Friday, 7 July from 6pm til 8pm. This four-piece a cappella group from South London, have performed at many festivals, including the Brandenburg Festival and the Lancaster Music Festival and will, this evening, perform their own arrangements of a selection of songs originally collected from around the country by Ralph Vaughan Williams. Morrigan will also explain the history behind the origins of the songs and where they were collected giving an insight into how Vaughan Williams developed them for his classical repertoire.
