Come and join the Surrey Hills Society 20’s to 30’s Group on this lovely jaunt which starts and finishes in the beautiful and historic country town of Guildford.
Starting on the old town bridge outside the White House Pub, the walk will take us along the River Wey and St. Catherines, the Chantries and Pewley Down before winding back to Guildford Town Centre and a stroll around some of its amazing buildings.
Time of arrival is from 10:30AM to leave at 11AM. If you are not there by 11AM the group will go without you. The walk will be guided at all times.
The White House address is 8 High St, Guildford, Surrey GU2 4AJ. This meeting point is a five minute walk from the railway station and there is also parking spaces nearby
Please bring some snacks/packed lunch as we will stop briefly. Lunch is not included, but we will be heading back to a reserved area at the Britannia Pub in Millbrook where we will be able to get a bite to eat at the end of the walk if you wish.
It is essential to bring fluids as the weather may be hot and you will be out in in for a long period of time walking.
This walk requires a reasonable level of fitness as there will be some steep areas.
Please also bring suitable clothing, walking shoes/boots for the day.
The walk should take no longer than 3 hours but it will depend on the size and speed of the group
This visit is suitable for members’ dogs but they will be advised at times to put them on a lead near roads/farmland.
