Woldingham station Caterham
Sunday 5th June, 2016
Meeting at station for 11am prompt start
Come and join the Surrey Hills Society on this easy walk around this fascinating area, with a “Homes for Heroes” model post WW1 garden village. We will also be exploring the Marsden Park estate that was created in the 17th century by wealthy London banker and Lord Mayor of London, Sir Robert Clayton. The house is now part of Woldingham School.
Time of arrival to the Woldingham station is from 10.30am to leave at 11am. If you are not there by 11am the group will go without you. Grid ref: TQ359 563. Postcode for Sat Nav: CR3 7LT.
The walk will be guided at all times and requires a reasonable level of fitness. Please also bring suitable clothing, walking shoes/boots for the day. The walk should take no longer than 1 1/2 hours (3.5 miles), but it will depend on the size and speed of the group.
Lunch is not included. Please bring some snacks/packed lunch if you wish, which you can eat on the green or join us in the café at Knight Garden Centre for a drink or a meal.
This is a free event but again booking is essential. Please contact either The Surrey Hills Society or Chris Howard who will be leading the trek on firstname.lastname@example.org or phone/text 07879841000.
This walk is suitable for dogs but it will be advised at times to put them on a lead near roads/farmland.
Please note that the Surrey Hills Society and its Event partners accept no responsibility for any loss, damage or personal injury during events. Participants are requested to wear appropriate clothing and footwear and take due care and attention.
