A group of volunteers from the Surrey Hills Equestrian Working Group headed out onto Leith Hill last Friday to undertake some valuable clearance work.
The group had identified a particular bridleway on Leith Hill that was overgrown with vegetation and difficult for horse riders to use. They all undertook training organised by the Surrey County Council Countryside Access team so they were aware of how to safely and effectively clear vegetation and then headed out to get the job done.
The group had a productive day and managed to clear sections of the bridleway that had become very over grown. The group intend to investigate further overgrown bridleways in the Surrey Hills with a view to getting out in the coming months.
