The National Trust and the Friends of Box Hill are proud to be celebrating 100 years of the National Trust caring for the famous Surrey landmark. With the official birthday not being celebrated until the middle of September, the Friends of Box Hill are busy putting together their plans to commemorate this achievement.
Chairman of the Friends of Box Hill, Lyn Richards said “we’d love to be able to share people’s memories, photos and stories of Box Hill this year and we’re looking for interesting old photos or stories to be part of a display that we’re preparing”. The Friends of Box Hill are organising a memories afternoon on Saturday 15 March from 2pm until 6pm at Juniper Hall, at the foot of Box Hill. Admission and refreshments will be free; please bring along any photographs you have of you or your family at Box Hill, from any period of time.
If you have any stories relating to Box Hill, or photos of the area, the Friends of Box Hill and National Trust staff would be delighted to hear from you at the memories afternoon. Juniper Hall Field Studies Centre can be found at the bottom of Box Hill on the Old London Road, Mickleham, Dorking, RH5 6DA. If you cannot attend the memories afternoon, but would like to contribute a story or photos for the Friend’s display, please contact Lyn Richards directly on 01737 842889 or email [email protected]
