The Surrey Hills Inspiring Views Project has been established with the primary focus of working with local partners to undertake viewpoint creation, access improvements, restoration of historic landscape features and interpretation at key gateway sites across the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The aim is to support a range of projects that benefit the landscape, wildlife, cultural and recreational aspects of the Surrey Hills.
Newlands Corner Inspiring Views project
In October 2014 Newlands Corner on the Albury Downs, one of the most spectacular views in South East England was opened up with funding from the Surrey Hills Trust Fund and the North Downs Way National Trail Partnership. Uncontrolled growth of scrub was removed to reveal far reaching views across to the Tillingbourne Valley.
The work was undertaken by Connection Crew, a leading event and logistics supplier and one of the UK’s most successful Social Enterprises with 25% of their staff being ex-homeless and profits going to Charity for the homeless.
