Villages
Abinger

Situated just off the A25 between Guildford and Dorking, Surrey.
The parish of Abinger consists of five villages: Abinger Hammer, Abinger Common, Forest Green, Walliswood and Oakwoodhill. The quaint village of Abinger Common stands high in the beautiful Leith Hill countryside and claims to have the second highest old parish church in Surrey. The village has connections with the famous Surrey Architect, Lutyens who built many of the cottages as well as the war memorial. Abinger Hammer is perhaps the best known village. The main feature of the village is the wooden clock which juts out over the road, with the figure Jack-the-blacksmith striking the hour on the bell with his hammer.
