Hindhead Together announce A3 Tunnel Community Open Day

Tunnel Vision Open Day will take place on Saturday 14th May 2011 and will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for the community to walk through the 1.8km long A3 Tunnel before it is officially open to the thousands of cars and lorries that will use it to ease their journey from London to Portsmouth and beyond.
RIDE2RAISE 2010 launch on Box Hill

At 9am on September 4, six intrepid cyclists will launch Ride2Raise 2010, a six day, 600 mile challenge to raise thousands of pounds for charities.

Surrey University using wood fuel from the Surrey Hills

The University of Surrey has chosen to heat its new flagship sports centre with wood from the Surrey Hills.
All the heating, including the 50 metre competition swimming pool, will be provided by wood chip from the Surrey Hills, saving around 222 tonnes² of carbon per year compared to burning fossil fuels, which is the equivalent carbon output of 45 three-bedroom houses.
